Position: Licensed Backcountry Hunting Guide

Location: Teton Wilderness, Near Moran Wyoming

Company Overview: We are a reputable outdoor adventure company seeking experienced and licensed Backcountry Hunting Guides to join our team. Based in the stunning Teton Wilderness, our company specializes in providing clients with immersive and unforgettable hunting experiences in the backcountry. Our guided trips include multi-day excursions, encompassing camping, fishing, and a deep connection with the wilderness.

Responsibilities:

  1. Guiding and Hunting:
    • Lead and guide clients on backcountry hunting expeditions within the Teton Wilderness.
    • Utilize your expertise to ensure a safe, ethical, and successful hunting experience for clients.
    • Provide guidance on hunting techniques, firearm safety, and outdoor survival skills.
  2. Camp Set-Up and Tear Down:
    • Assist in setting up and tearing down backcountry campsites for overnight stays.
    • Ensure a comfortable and organized camp environment for clients.
  3. Packing:
    • Oversee the packing and unpacking of gear and equipment for backcountry trips.
    • Manage the efficient and safe transport of equipment to and from camp locations.
  4. Client Care:
    • Provide exceptional client care and support throughout the duration of the backcountry trips.
    • Attend to client needs, ensuring a positive and memorable experience.
  5. Safety and Wilderness Ethics:
    • Prioritize safety at all times, adhering to best practices in backcountry safety and wilderness ethics.
    • Educate clients on responsible hunting practices, Leave No Trace principles, and conservation efforts.
  6. Communication:
    • Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, fellow guides, and support staff.
    • Keep clients informed about daily itineraries, safety protocols, and hunting strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Valid and current hunting guide license.
  • Proven experience as a backcountry hunting guide.
  • Proficient in wilderness survival skills, navigation, and outdoor first aid.
  • Knowledge of local flora, fauna, and hunting regulations in the Teton Wilderness.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Physically fit and able to handle the demands of backcountry terrain.
  • Comfortable working in a team and independently.

Season: The backcountry hunting season runs from September 1 to October 31 each year.
